On a beautiful Indian Summer morning on October 6, 2007, Susan Barron was walking her dog to the Blessing of the Animals service at a local church in the Murray Hill area of Manhattan when a random act of unthinkable violence changed her life forever. The attack on her was so brutal that it was called in to the New York City Police Department as a homicide. It is miraculous that she survived.
Susan has been in a Manhattan hospital for three months, and has endured 13 reconstructive surgeries on various parts of her body. She faces several more surgeries and intensive physical therapy. And while her good heart and spirit are still in tact, this incident, which stunned the neighborhood and the City, has left her in need of financial assistance to help her pay her bills and afford the home care she will need when she finally returns home. Friends of Susan have lovingly created this website in her honor, to give those concerned about her a place to donate much needed funds and leave their thoughts and prayers for her. Those who know Susan know she would never ask for anything, especially money, so we (her friends) are hoping to help on her behalf. We thank you for visiting Susan's website and for your concern in helping this amazing woman who has touched the lives of virtually everyone who knows her.
